In 1977, our late founder Mustafa Oğuz, identifying the absence of a specialized service and distribution company dedicated solely to the hospital pharmaceutical market, took a visionary step. He brought together the partners of NEVZAT Pharmaceutical Warehouse—where he was a professional manager at the time and one of the two most important distributors in Turkey's pharmacy market—with the owners and managers of SELÇUK Pharmaceutical Warehouse. Together, they decided to establish a specialized pharmaceutical warehouse dedicated exclusively to HOSPITAL MARKET DISTRIBUTION.
As the fruit of this decision, ÖZ-SEL officially completed its establishment on March 10, 1977, and rapidly commenced its operations in the hospital market. Never failing in its obligations toward the clients who constitute its reason for being, ÖZ-SEL has achieved a business volume exceeding 3,000 tenders and purchase orders annually, serving over 1,000 hospitals belonging to State, University, and other healthcare institutions across Turkey.
Since 2005, our building in Ümraniye, constructed to standards that meet the requirements of modern pharmaceutical warehousing, also features social facilities such as a library, seminar and meditation halls, and a cafeteria to meet the cultural and social needs of our employees
Since its establishment, ÖZ-SEL A.Ş. has successfully reached the present day by being minimally affected by the numerous political and economic crises Turkey has endured, never allowing its reputation to be overshadowed. In 1977, our founder Mr. Mustafa Oğuz, who was then the General Manager of Nevzat Pharmaceutical Warehouse, introduced the idea of establishing a pharmaceutical warehouse dedicated exclusively to the hospital market. He brought together the two biggest competitors in pharmacy distribution at the time—Nevzat Pharmaceutical Warehouse and Selçuk Pharmaceutical Warehouse—as partners. The company commenced its operations on March 10, 1977, under its initial name, NEVSEL Pharmaceutical Warehouse.
Following the departure of Nevzat Pharmaceutical Warehouse from the partnership on April 5, 1982, the company was renamed ÖZSEL Pharmaceutical Warehouses Trade and Marketing Inc. Since that day, the company has reached the present by being minimally affected by the severe political and economic crises Turkey has endured, never allowing its reputation to be overshadowed.
Today, ÖZSEL has become undisputedly the most experienced and trusted company in Turkey’s hospital market, particularly for multinational pharmaceutical firms. This distinction has enabled ÖZSEL to achieve a business volume exceeding 3,000 annual tenders with over 1,000 state and university hospitals across Turkey. Additionally, it has secured a significant market share in the steadily growing private hospital sector. The Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 (LPPD) entered into force upon its publication in the Official Gazette dated 07.04.2016 and numbered 29677. The Law, prepared by considering international documents, comparative law practices, and our country’s needs, aims to process and protect personal data at modern standards. In this context, the purpose of the Law is to regulate the processing conditions of personal data, the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms in the processing of personal data, and the obligations, procedures, and principles to be followed by real and legal persons who process personal data.
Our Company is obliged to comply with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698, and all personal data processed during its operational processes are within the scope of this law.
